Brides and Grooms Weren't Meant To Live On a Hard Drive

Wedding Albums Never Have an Expiration Date

wedding albums from album boutiqueSummer is coming to a close and, as usual at this time of year, we are seeing many past brides – some recent, some not – who are gearing up to create their wedding albums.  For the many years I’ve been in this business, every year around this time we’re contacted by brides who were married three, five and even seven years ago, who have decided now to make their wedding albums. This is a rather unusual phenomenon, and it prompted me to dig deeper and learn why getting a wedding album completed suddenly becomes a common goal at this time of year.

After talking with many clients, I discovered that their reasons for deciding to get their wedding albums completed now are varied and complex.  But I see a number of common threads.  The most obvious and common factor is the calendar and what this time span means.

This is the time of year when we fondly recall that “back to school” feeling, sometimes through our children, as many people are sending their kids back to school.  It’s also a time to prepare for the holidays and think about winding down the year.  Christmas is on the horizon; wedding albums and enlarged prints are one of the favorite gifts for parents.

Another common thread is that wedding albums are still something we want to share with the next generation.

This can be illustrated with two scenarios: imagine going to your computer and scrolling through all 2000 of your wedding images while your child gets bored before you even get to the ceremony.  Or instead, imagine sitting with your child, your completed wedding album in your lap like a story book, laughing and relaying all the stories of your wedding, while you look at the only the best images from that wonderful day.

Many couples still want to relive the fairytale of their wedding, and they want to pass these precious memories down to their children.  The best vehicle for creating and sharing this oral history is with a beautifully designed wedding album. If you are married and never made a wedding album, your kids and your parents will appreciate the effort.

We look forward to sharing some couples stories and the albums of their romance in the weeks to come.
