Brides and Grooms Weren't Meant To Live On a Hard Drive

Easter and Passover: A Time to Share Family Photos and Albums

Leather_albumFor me, holidays are the times I catch up and share my latest photos with the people I love most: my family and friends.  I remember going through shoe boxes of photos with my grandmother on so many family occasions.  And looking at my mother’s wedding album, with my grandmother pointing out who got divorced, who passed away, and how beautiful this one was before she let herself go.  Those are some of my favorite memories.

Now as I prepare to visit family next week for Passover, I will not go empty-handed.  My daughter’s Bat Mitzvah album is finally completed.  I’d run out of excuses for not doing it, and wonder now why I delayed, because the process was actually fun.  I uploaded my pictures and narrowed down the selections – using the same process I urge all my clients to use.  And I’m happy to report I’m thrilled with the results!

The best part is that I get to share all the memories with my family when I visit them.  I can hand my mother a beautiful leather album of her granddaughter, and I get to live through that wonderful celebration all over again.

In my family, Passover is a two-day affair.  So neither my husband’s nor my family gets left out.  And in my case, I get to go to both sides of the family bearing beautiful gifts.  I just completed my gift to my niece for her wedding: a gorgeous wedding album for her and a companion book for my brother- and sister-in-law.  My niece has already received her album, but I get to bring her parents their parent album and see the joy on their faces.

Holidays are about family.  And there is no better way to enjoy a family gathering than going through photos of happy occasions you’ve shared over the years.  For me, the greatest satisfaction comes from the ability to provide joy to my loved ones, when I share a completed album of those photos.

If you have not yet made an album of your important occasions, use this time to go through your pictures with your family.  And imagine getting together with them for Mother’s Day – with a beautiful wedding album or any photo album of those pictures.
